Opinion: Addison fire officials thanked
On April 7 a brush fire broke out near the woods at the Owls Head Harbor seasonal community off Lake Road in Addison. An alert passerby on Lake Road stopped to investigate and then called the fire department.
The Addison Volunteer Fire Department responded quickly and controlled the fire. Their quick and effective action prevented any property damage and limited the amount of surrounding woods that were damaged.
The Owls Head Harbor Club would like to thank the Addison Volunteer Fire Department and its chief, Chris Mullis, for responding to this fire and being a continual presence in the community. Of special note: The alert passerby who sounded the alarm was Ashley Mullis, the chief’s daughter. Public spirit obviously runs in this family.
Addison is very fortunate to have a dedicated and well-trained team of firefighters protecting the community.
Once again, our thanks.
Steven Greenfield, President
Owls Head Harbor Club
