Mt. Abe the only local baseball team to win

ADDISON COUNTY — In local high school baseball action late last week, Mount Abraham split a pair of games, while Vergennes, Middlebury and Otter Valley came up short.
EAGLES
On Thursday, the Eagles defeated host Missisquoi, 12-10.Mike Jeromepicked up his third pitching win of the spring and also helped spark the Mount Abe offense with two singles and three runs.George Baileyadded two hits and scored a run, andTy CombsandMatt Mullins each had two hits and two RBIs.
On Saturday, host Mount Mansfield bested the Eagles, 10-3. Details on this game were not immediately available. Mount Abe will enter itsTuesdayhome game vs. VUHS with a 3-7 record.
TIGERS
On Thursday, host Spaulding erupted on offense for a 21-4 victory. Winning pitcher Jordan Godfrey slugged two homers for the Tide. For the Tigers,Oakley Gordondrove in three runs with two hits, andCalvin Desforgestripled, singled and drove in the other run.
On Saturday, visiting Essex (6-3) scored eight runs in the final two innings to defeat the Tigers, 11-3.Joe Hounchellsingled, doubled and drove in a run, and Gordon tripled for MUHS (0-6).
COMMODORES
On Thursday, visiting Milton jumped out to a 10-0 lead on the way to a 10-3 victory over the Commodores. Losing pitcherDylan Raymondsettled down after that and held the Yellowjackets scoreless over the final four innings and also picked up a hit and an RBI.Chris Leachpoked four hits and drove in a run, andCamden Simpsonhad a hit and scored twice for VUHS.
On Saturday, visiting Spaulding’s Cameron Flinn tossed a three-hitter, fanning 10, as the Tide edged the Commodores, 3-1. Spaulding (3-5) also squeezed two runners home. The Commodores will carry a 2-7 mark into Bristolon Tuesday.
OTTERS
On Thursday, host Bellows Falls topped the Otters, 8-2, scoring five runs in the third off losing pitcherDerek Aineson two hits and three walks. Aines whiffed four in four innings.John Winslowdrilled an RBI triple for the 1-7 Otters.
