BRANDON — The Otter Valley Union High School girls’ tennis team defeated visiting Springfield on Monday, 4-2, for the Otters’ first win of the spring.
The Otters won four of the five singles matches, while the Cosmos claimed the only contested doubles match.
In singles action:
•  Sarah Young, OV, defeated Springfield’s Lexie Bellows, 8-6.
•  Jenna Keith, OV, defeated Alex Fauver, SHS, 8-0.
•  Cosmo Sadie Rice defeated Brenna Coombs, OV, 6-1, 6-0.
•  Sophie Ward, OV, defeated Jennifer Anders, SHS, 6-2, 6-4.
•  Brigid Enright, OV, defeated Katie Worth, SHS, 6-3, 3-1.
In doubles, Springfield’s Allison Hoestler and Alyssa Jaine defeated OV’s Ghislaine Robin and Katelynne Batten, 6-3, 6-4.
