Waltham gets FEMA funding for winter storm cleanup
WALTHAM — The Waltham selectboard heard from road foreman Mike Merrigan on April 6 that FEMA will reimburse the town 75 percent of its costs for December 2014 storm cleanup, an amount that will total about $6,000.
Merrigan also listed 2015 road projects, including adding between 12 and 20 loads of gravel to Route 66, 12 loads to Crosby Heights, and four or five loads to Burnham Road, and replacing a number of driveway culverts.
According to the minutes, Merrigan also planned to attend a VTrans “Better Backroads” forum on April 22 to get more information on possibly obtaining a $10,000 grant for culvert replacement on town roads.
On April 6 the selectboard also chose Mike Grace as its chairman and appointed Chris Von Trapp to the development review board, replacing Paula Higbee.
