Panther men’s golf is fourth at tourney
CRANSTON, R.I. — The Middlebury College men’s golf team finished in a fourth-place tie among 21 teams competing at the Johnson & Wales Spring Invitational Tournament on Saturday and Sunday. Tufts won the event with a 610, followed by Williams (614), Manhattanville (621), Middlebury (622) and Salem (622).
Seniors John Louie and Charlie Garcia led the Middlebury efforts over the two-day event, each shooting a 155 to tie for 15th place. Louie shot a 74 on day one followed by an 81, while Garcia came in with a 77 and a 78. The rest of the Panthers were Fitz Bowen in 25th (shooting 75 and 82 for a two-day total of 157), Eric Laorr in 29th (79 and 79 for 158), and Bennett Doherty in 41st (82 and 79 for 161).
Middlebury will host the NESCAC Men’s Golf Championship at Ralph Myhre Golf Course this Saturday and Sunday.
