VERGENNES — The Commodore Parent Teacher Group (CPTG) is sponsoringthe first presentation of a Parent/Family Lecture Series on Tuesday, April 7, at the Vergennes Union High School Library from 7-8:30 pm.
The public is invited to join Tom Fontana, a school based clinician at VUHS for a discussion on “Talking With Your Teen About Dating.”Fontana is a mental health and substance abuse counselor and highly respected staff member at VUHS. He  is known for connecting with students on a personal and individual level.
Fontana has gained a wealth of knowledge and insight working with teenagers in Addison County over the last eight years. He will share some of his insight with parents and community members on the topic of talking with your teen about dating and relationships.
Areas to be discussed are:
• What are the components of a healthy relationship?
• How do you talk about hooking up, pressures, hopes, and fears?
• How you can help your teen build strong, respectful relationships.
Fontana will cover ways to talk with and listen to teens that ultimately enable them to make better life choices. His presentation will include plenty of time for your thoughts, questions and answers.
