Girls make basketball all-star squads

ADDISON COUNTY — A half-dozen local girls’ high school basketball players earned postseason recognition from the Lake Division or the Marble Valley League B Division.
Middlebury Union freshman Keagan Dunbar received first-team honors from the Lake Division and was also named to the Vermont Basketball Coaches Association “Dream Dozen” team of outstanding underclassmen, while Otter Valley junior Amy Jones was named an MVL B Division first-team all-star.
Earning second-team Lake honors were Vergennes junior Nikki Salley and two Mount Abraham players, senior Isabel Brennan and freshman Emma Carter.
OV senior Laura Beth Roberts was named an MVL B Division second-team all-star, and Roberts also won the Division I and II all-star three-point shooting contest at Windsor during this past Saturday’s VBCA all-star festivities.
Mount Abe coach Connie LaRose also shared Lake Coach of the Year honors with South Burlington’s Sheila Burleigh. The Eagles and Rebels shared the Lake Division title with identical one-loss league records.
