DAR members donate books to VUES

VERGENNES — The Seth Warner-Rhoda Farrand Chapter DAR, in working to fulfill its mission of preserving American history and furthering education for children, recently donated to the Vergennes United Elementary School library four children’s books.
The titles were chosen to provide varied reading material for those classes studying Vermont history and life in the early days of the state. The donated books are “Johnny Tremain” by Esther Forbes, “It Happened in Vermont” by Mark Bushnell, “Woods Runner” by Gary Paulsen, and “Vermont Curiosities” by Robert F. Wilson.
The books were given in memory of DAR member Susan Rossier.
