Driver cited for DUI after Ripton crash
RIPTON — Vermont State Police cited a Rochester man for driving under the influence following a one-vehicle crash on Route 125 in Ripton during the evening of Jan. 22.
Police said Karl F. Hubrich, 54, was the driver of the vehicle, which they said crashed just east of the Route 125 intersection with Lincoln Road. Police said they measured Hubrich’s blood-alcohol content at 0.169 percent, which was more than twice the state’s legal limit of 0.08 percent. Hubrich was not injured; his vehicle sustained extensive front-end and undercarriage damage, according to police.
Hubrich was released on a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, criminal division, on Feb. 9 to answer to the charge of driving under the influence.
