Photographer for National Geographic to deliver talk

MIDDLEBURY — The annual meeting of the Green Mountain Club Bread Loaf Section will be held on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 5 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the Congregational Church in Middlebury. Photographer James P. Blair will give a talk titled “Being There.”
Blair worked as a staff photographer for National Geographic magazine for 30 years. Forty-six articles carried his byline and more than 2,000 of his photos have appeared within its covers.
“Being There,” an exhibit of Blair’s photography, was displayed at the Town Hall Theater in Middlebury last summer. Images in the exhibit were taken from his time working for National Geographic. He resides in Middlebury for part of the year and says he enjoys sharing stories of his life and travels.
The annual meeting begins at 5 p.m. with a social time, potluck dinner at 5:30 p.m., followed by a short business meeting and guest speaker. All GMC events are open to the public as well as members. Attendees are asked to bring a favorite dish for the potluck, and their own place settings and eating utensils. RSVP to Ruth Penfield at 802-388-5407.
Information about this and other Bread Loaf Section events is available at www.gmcbreadloaf.org/outings.
