MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police were informed of the alleged theft of an unspecified quantity of narcotics from Porter Hospital on Sept. 17. Police said investigation of the matter continues.

This incident is being investigated by Porter Hospital officials, who are doing an accounting of their medication supplies, according to Middlebury police Sgt. Mike Christopher. Middlebury police will proceed with further investigation once that information is complete.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

•  Responded to a noise complaint on Court Street on Sept. 15.

•  Helped resolve a domestic dispute in the Mill Street area on Sept. 15.

•  Located a runaway juvenile on Water Street on Sept. 16.

•  Received a report of some possible lewd and lascivious activity at a Porter Drive location on Sept. 16.

•  Cited two juvenile female students for simple assault after investigation of a reported fight at Middlebury Union High School on Sept. 16.

•  Received a report that a license plate had been stolen from a vehicle parked off Elm Street on Sept. 16.

•  Heard from a local caller on Sept. 16 who reported someone had fraudulently opened a phone account in her name. Police continue to investigate the matter.

•  Took into protective custody a juvenile who had allegedly acted irresponsibly with a weapon off Mary Hogan Drive on Sept. 17. Police said the weapon turned out to be a black Airsoft pellet gun.

•  Served a no-trespass order on an elderly man who was allegedly attempting to befriend his neighbor’s children in the Seminary Street Extension neighborhood on Sept. 17.

•  Arrested Heather Sherman, 27, of Port Henry, N.Y., on Sept. 17 on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear at a scheduled proceeding at the Addison County Courthouse.

•  Referred to counseling a man who had threatened to harm himself in the Route 7 South area on Sept. 18.

•  Investigated a report of occupants in a vehicle squealing tires and wanting to fight at McDonald’s Restaurant on Sept. 19.

•  Received a report that a vehicle had been vandalized while parked off Skyline Drive on Sept. 19.

•  Were informed on Sept. 19 of five recent thefts from Middlebury College campus; town police did not specify details on what was reported stolen.

•  Warned a Weybridge Street resident about making excessive amounts of noise at around 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 19.

•  Responded to a report of a man “refusing to leave his ex-girlfriend alone” in the Court Square area on Sept. 19. The woman obtained lodging for the night, according to police.

•  Investigated a complaint about a youth using a fake identification card in an attempt to buy alcohol from the Hannaford Supermarket off Route 7 South on Sept. 20.

•  Were informed that a wallet had been stolen from a Main Street location on Sept. 20.

•  Responded to a report of someone overdosing on pills at a Route 7 South address on Sept. 21. Police said the person in question was taken to Porter Hospital for treatment.

•  Returned, to its owner, a wallet that had been found off Field Days Road in New Haven on Sept. 21.

•  Received a report about an EastView at Middlebury resident who had allegedly walked away from that retirement community off South Street Extension on Sept. 21. Police said the resident was soon found and reported having lost track of time.

•  Responded to a family dispute at a Mead Lane residence on Sept. 21.

•  Responded to a noise complaint at a North Pleasant Street home on Sept. 21.

•  Received a complaint about a loud party at a Seymour Street Extension residence at around 2 a.m. on Sept. 21. Police said the homeowner was breaking up the party when they arrived.

•  Went to the scene of another loud party, this one at a South Main Street residence on Sept. 21. Police said they explained the noise ordinance to the homeowner.

•  Helped a woman obtain a temporary restraining order on Sept. 21.
