Middlebury to clear snow from village streets
MIDDLEBURY —The Middlebury Public Works Department will be clearing snow from downtown streets this evening, Tuesday, December 16, and Wednesday, December 17th, beginning at approximately 9:00 p.m. on both nights.
Starting at the intersection of Academy Street with College Street and Main Street, the work crew will move eastward toward downtown, removing snow from streets and sidewalks at the curb line and hauling it out by the truckload. Downtown streets to be cleared include Main Street, Cross Street, Park Street, Mill Street, Merchants Row and South Pleasant Street.
Work will continue to North Pleasant Street and it is anticipated that it will continue down Washington Street to the Seminary Street intersection, as well as Seymour Street to the Elm Street intersection.
Per Middlebury’s Ordinance for the Regulation of Parking, the winter parking ban is in effect. Parking is prohibited on any town highway or public parking lot between the midnight and 6 a.m. from November 1 through March 31, except where specifically permitted and signed. Vehicles in violation of the ordinance may be towed at the owner’s expense by order of the Middlebury Police Department.
