Middlebury gym opened to locals without electricity
To provide shelter for those without electricity and heat, local Emergency Manager and Middlebury Police Chief Tom Hanley has opened the municipal gym at 94 Main St. to locals whose electricity has been cut by the ongoing snowstorm. The Red Cross has been notified and will provide staffing for the emergency shelter.
Those needing transportation to the gym can contact Addison County Transit Resources at 388-1946 until 5 p.m., and the Middlebury Police Department at 388-3191 after 5 p.m., to arrange a ride.
All other activities in the gym will be cancelled until power is restored.
