More young hunters have successful season

MIDDLEBURY — In all, 21 young hunters were successful during Youth Hunting Weekend and had deer weighed at Vermont Field Sports in Middlebury.
However, due to the fact that state wildlife biologists had initially taken information with them that weekend after overseeing weigh-ins, only five names were available immediately after the two-day youth hunt. They were published in the Nov. 17 edition of the Independent.
State officials late last week returned the information to Vermont Field Sports, allowing publication of the other 16 successful hunters who brought deer to the weigh station there.
They are (listed by name, town of kill, and by pounds if a doe or fawn and by pounds and points if a buck):
Timothy Whitney, Middlebury, 143-pound doe; Colin Foster, Bridport, 141 doe; Sawyer Forbes, Middlebury, 135 doe; Hunter Warner, Middlebury 133-pound, 4-point buck; Matthew Ouellette, Weybridge, 128 doe; Joseph Whitley, Middlebury 119-4 buck; Morgan Galipeau, Weybridge, 118-2 buck; Levi Gordon, Bridport, 113 doe; Owen Comes, Middlebury, 107 doe; Sawyer Heath, Salisbury, 104-2 buck; Devon Kimball, New Haven, 100 doe; Kegan Brown, Salisbury, 99 doe; Andrew Gosselin, Salisbury, 89 doe; Georgina Mraz, Weybridge, 62 fawn; and Dalton Rheaume, Salisbury, 55 fawn.
