MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police responded on Oct. 8 to a report about a youth who had passed out after smoking marijuana, and was now acting aggressively at a Seymour Street residence. Middlebury Regional EMS took the youth to Porter Hospital.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
•  Assisted Vermont State Police with a vehicle-deer collision on Route 116 in Bristol on Oct. 6.
•  Investigated  a report about juveniles allegedly throwing objects into the road in front of a Seymour Street home on Oct. 6.
•  Assisted a local resident who reported the theft of an iPhone from a College Street location on Oct. 6.
•  Investigated a three-car accident, with no reported injuries, on Court Street on Oct. 6.
•  Were informed that someone had driven away from Maplefields on North Pleasant Street without paying for the gasoline they had pumped on Oct. 6.
•  Assisted a local resident who complained of  receiving fraudulent charges on an Internet account on Oct. 6.
•  Received a report about a student running away from Mary Hogan Elementary School on Oct. 6. Police said school staff located and returned the child to school.
•  Removed an uncooperative student from Middlebury Union High School on Oct. 6.
•  Assisted Middlebury Regional EMS with a suicidal patient on Route 7 South on Oct. 7.
•  Assisted a man who had allegedly been threatened by another man on Seminary Street Extension on Oct. 7.
•  Got counseling help for a Cross Street resident who had alleged his apartment had been booby-trapped on Oct. 7.
•  Responded to a domestic dispute at a Buttolph Drive home on Oct. 7.
•  Took a man to Porter Hospital for evaluation after having received a report that he was acting strangely in the Seminary Street Extension area on Oct. 8.
•  Received a report that a parent had inappropriately confronted some students who were waiting at a school bus stop outside Middlebury Union Middle School on Oct. 8.  The department’s school resource officer intervened and resolved the situation, according to police.
•  Were informed that someone had broken a porch ornament at a Jayne Court home on Oct. 8.
•  Received a report of an MUHS student driving away from campus fishtailing his vehicle at a high rate of speed on Oct. 8.
•  Assisted a disoriented male in finding his home on Oct. 9.
•  Helped Bristol police locate someone in the Valley View neighborhood on Oct. 9.
•  Assisted a Court Street store that had video evidence of shoplifting on Oct. 9.
•  Assisted in locating a child who had not returned home after attending classes at Mary Hogan Elementary School on Oct. 10.
•  Served a no-trespass order on a man who had allegedly created a disturbance at the Champlain Farms store on Court Street on Oct. 10.
•  Dispersed some youths who were allegedly causing some mischief in the Court Street area on Oct. 11.
•  Investigated a report of a gunshot in the Washington Street area on Oct. 11. Police determined that someone had been setting off fireworks.
•  Responded to a report of some youths in a car throwing eggs at pedestrians on Oct. 11.
•  Asked a Seminary Street Extension resident to shut down a band that was playing during the evening of Oct. 11.
•  Received a complaint about some chickens running loose on Case Street and East Main Street on Oct. 11. Police contacted the Addison County Humane Society to assist with the case.
•  Investigated a report of a stolen vehicle from an East Main Street address on Oct. 11. Police said it turned out the owner had misplaced the vehicle.
•  Responded to a report of loud music at a Washington Street residence on Oct. 11. Police said a resident had been hosting a live band, and agreed to turn down the volume.
•  Assisted a local resident who had been receiving threatening text messages on Oct. 11.
• Cited Jamie Parmelee, 38, of Middlebury for driving under the influence, following a traffic stop on Main Street on Oct. 11. Police said the driver declined to provide a breath sample.
•  Responded to a verbal argument between a man and woman at a Jayne Court residence on Oct. 12.
•  Investigated a report of a family fight at a Court Street residence on Oct. 12.
•  Responded to a report of an out-of-control juvenile in the Blake Roy Road neighborhood on Oct. 12. Police took the juvenile to Porter Hospital to speak with a counselor.
•  Took an individual to Porter Hospital for a mental health evaluation on Oct. 12.
•  Served a no-trespass order on a man who was not wanted at the McDonald’s Restaurant on Court Street on Oct. 12.
•  Received a complaint about a man who allegedly stole some candy from the Middlebury Short Stop on Oct. 12.
