ADDISON COUNTY — In local high school girls’ soccer action in the latter half of last week, Mount Abraham kept rolling, Middlebury picked up a road tie, Vergennes split a pair of games and Otter Valley dropped a home match.

EAGLES
On Wednesday, the Eagles blanked visiting Missisquoi, 3-0, to improve to 5-2 heading into their Saturday showdown with MUHS. Early goals by Lydia Pitts andAnna Hauman gave Mount Abe the lead, and Stephanie White, fromStacie Sabourin, padded the advantage in the second half.
Eagle goalies Zoe Cassels-Brown andKamille Snell combined for 4 saves, while the goalie Jenna Bourdeau stopped 14 Eagle shots, including two penalty kicks, for the 0-6 T-Birds.
TIGERS
Also on Wednesday, the Tigers hung on to tie host Rice, 0-0, to move to 6-0-1. Two Tiger goalies combined for a dozen stops: Molly Campbell made eight saves, three in regulation and five in overtime, and Riley Fenster made four saves in regulation.
Rice keeper Macie Sicard made one save as the D-I Green Knights controlled most of the action. MUHS coach Wendy Leeds said sweeper Kelsey Smith played well for the Tigers.
COMMODORES
On Wednesday, visiting Milton edged the Commodores, 2-1. The Yellowjackets’ Caitlyn Dabagian scored twice, including the tie-breaking goal midway through the second half. Olivia Fournier’s goal late in the first half tied the game for VUHS. VUHS goalie K.C. Ambrose stopped eight shots, while Milton’s Kayleigh Reid made five saves.
In Saturday’s homecoming match, the 3-5 Commodores got goals from Annika Vorsteveld and Fournier and edged visiting Missisquoi, 2-1. Ambrose made two saves, while Jenna Bourdeau recorded five saves for the 0-7 T-Birds.
KC Ambrose earned the win with two stops for the Commodores (3-5).
OTTERS
On Thursday, visiting Springfield edged OV, 1-0, in what Coach Rick Hedding said was an evenly matched game. Chelsea McCallister’s first-half goal proved to be the difference. Goalie Nora Enright made six saves for OV (0-7) in the first half, and Hedding said the Otters were able to shut out the Cosmos in the second half thanks to defense from Jillian Flanders and goaltending from Gabbie Poalino.
