County Chamber to host Oct. 7 candidates’ forum
MIDDLEBURY — The Addison County Chamber of Commerce will host a candidates’ forum Tuesday, Oct. 7, focusing on Addison County’s contested races for the Vermont House of Representatives. It will be held from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Ilsley Library Community Room in Middlebury. Paul Ralston, owner of Vermont Coffee Company and outgoing Vermont state representative, will moderate the event.
Many of the district’s seats are being contested during this election cycle, and the majority of the candidates will be participating. Likely topics for discussion include the Vermont state budget and the resulting deficit, healthcare/single-payer system, economic development, and property taxes and school funding.
Questions may be posed by the audience directly to candidates either verbally or written on a card for the moderator to ask.
There is no cost to attend. RSVPs are appreciated; contact the chamber at 802-388-7951 or [email protected].
