UPDATE: State police find missing Monkton boys

MONKTON — Vermont State Police troopers on Wednesday evening said they had located two Monkton boys they described as “runaways.” They said 13-year-old Damon Tower and 14-year-old Wayne Larose were both in good health and copperated with police.
VSP said on Tuesday that the two went missing from their Monkton home Monday evening, and they sought the public’s help in finding them.
Troopers Butterfield and Crick said at the time they believed the boys ran away from their house on foot on Sept. 15 between 5 and 5:45 p.m. They expected the boys to be in the Monkton, Bristol or Vergennes areas.
Damon Tower was described as 5-foot-3-inches tall, 110 pounds, with short, dirty blonde hair and green eyes. He was probably wearing blue jeans and a black baseball-style cap with gray brim. Wayne Larose was described as 5-foot-4 inches, 130 pounds, with dark brown, curly hair and brown eyes. He has a scar on the left side of his forehead. He is also believed to be wearing jeans and a black baseball-style cap.
 
Trooper Crick released a statement at 6:24 p.m. on Sept. 17 thanking members of the public who had submitted information on the possible whereabouts of the boys. She did not release any details on where they were found.
