Tiger, OV field hockey post wins; Eagles lose
ADDISON COUNTY — In local high school field hockey games, all played on Tuesday, Middlebury and Otter Valley won on the road, but Mount Abraham fell at home.
OTTERS
The Otters rolled up a 22-2 advantage in shots in a 6-0 win at Fair Haven. Laura Roberts andAllison Lowell scored two goals apiece, and Jenna Elliott andMarissa Colburn added one each. Roberts, Colburn, Maia Edmunds,Amy Jones andKylie Bissette picked up assists. Slater goalie Jenna Alexander made 15 saves, while OV’s Myliah McDonough stopped two shots. OV (4-1) faces a stiffer test on Friday, when Woodstock, which has already defeated OV this fall, visits Brandon.
TIGERS
The Tigers improved to 3-1-1 when Sara Kelley erupted for four second-half goals in a 4-1 win at Burlington. Makayla Foster set up two of Kelley’s goals, including the score that gave MUHS a 2-1 lead. MUHS has now scored 10 goals in its past three games.
EAGLES
Defending Division I champion Essex scored twice in Tuesday’s second half at Mount Abe to defeat the defending D-II champs, 2-0. Goalie Madison Corkum stopped two shots for the 3-0-1 Hornets, while Danielle Morse andSamantha Bruce combined for six saves for the 3-2 Eagles.
