Tuesday, Aug. 26, is primary day. Please vote. For the two legislative seats in Middlebury, I’m happy to recommend Betty Nuovo and Donna Donahue.
I first met Donna several years ago, during preparations for the opening of the Cross Street Bridge. She was then president of the Better Middlebury Partnership. She organized the children’s march across the bridge. It was the most memorable event of the day. I was impressed by her energy, imagination, compassion and community spirit. My impression has not changed. She has other strengths in business and finance that would make her a very useful member of the legislature. She is articulate and honest and will serve the public well.
I suppose it is no surprise that I also support Betty Nuovo. I am her husband, and she is the love of my life. After 61years of marriage I can say I know her well. She is hard-working, energetic, deeply caring and has a keen sense of detail. I have watched her on weekends during the legislative session tirelessly reading new bills, correcting errors in them, and making sure that they will benefit people. She is devoted, tireless, and courageous public servant.
