Willowell to host Bocce tourney July 20

MONKTON — Join in on the fun at Willowell for their third annual International Bocce Ball Tournament on Sunday, July 20, from noon to 5 p.m.
You can show off your strength, accuracy and precision and even if you don’t have those, you can still play just for the fun of it. There is a $30 entrance fee for a two-person team. For single players, the fee is $15 and you can choose a partner when you get to Willowell. Please contact Willowell AmeriCorps member Tony Zambito at [email protected] with any questions about the program or a schedule of the events. An RSVP to [email protected] would be greatly appreciated, or call 802-453-6195.
Also coming up at Willowell on Saturday, July 19, is “Parenting with Herbs: Part 1” from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., discussing herbs for concentration, sleep and allergies. “Parenting with Herbs: Part 2” will be held on Sunday, July 20, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Digestion, cold/flu, infections and boo-boos will be the topics for that workshop. You can pre-register at [email protected] or call 802-453-6195.
As many of you know, Anne and Dan Coolidge lost their home and all of their possessions due to a fire at their home on States Prison Hollow Road. Anne had worked for several years as a cook at Monkton Central School and Dan grew up in town. Anne and Dan are hopeful to have another home put on their land soon.
Members of the community would like to help them get back on their feet. Donations of money, gift certificates to Bub’s Barn or Bed, Bath & Beyond would be one way to help. Also, gift certificates to grocery stores might be helpful, or to other stores where they could purchase household items needed.
If you might have any furniture, kitchen supplies or anything else that you could give, please call Anne at 989-6627. If you have any questions, call Zandra Cousino at 453-3393.
If you would prefer to send a gift directly to Anne and Dan, their address is Anne and Dan Coolidge, 4109 States Prison Hollow Road, Bristol, VT 05443.
