Vergennes native promoted to captain in U.S. Navy

NEWPORT, R.I. — Brian A. Gebo, the son of Valli Gebo of Vergennes, Vt., has been promoted to the rank of captain in the U.S. Navy.
Gebo is currently serving as a student at the Naval Command College, U.S. Naval War College, Naval Station Newport, R.I. He has served in the military for 22 years.
The Naval Command College is a year-long international graduate-level program consisting of 47 senior naval officers from 44 countries. Gebo will be reporting to the National Reconnaissance Office in Washington, D.C., with his wife, Heather, and three boys, Brady, Aidan and Spencer.
Gebo is a 1988 graduate of Vergennes Union High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 1992 from Maine Maritime Academy, Castine, Maine.
