Locals fare well at Ralph Mhyre women’s tourney

MIDDLEBURY — A women’s invitational golf tournament hosted on Saturday by the Ralph Myhre Golf Course produced ties for first place on top of both the first and second flights for both the low gross and low net scores. In all, 28 competitors from Ralph Myhre and eight other courses teed off on June 28.
Tying for the low gross in Flight One were Pam Mcguire from Ralph Myhre and Ann Jorgensen from Saratoga, both of whom shot 80.
Sharing the runner-up position for low gross by shooting 83s were Charlene Stavenow of Ralph Myhre and Arlene Jackman from Basin Harbor.
In Flight Two Gisele Lafleche from Ralph Myhre and Eunice Bashaw from Crown Point each fired 91s to share the low gross title. The runner-ups were Brenda Hughes and Jean Silvera from Basin Harbor, each with a 102.
For the low net score, the low net winners for Flight One were Eva Mastalos from Ralph Myhre and Christine Campbell from Crown Point, each carding a 63.
The runners-up for Flight One low net were Jane Beck from Ralph Myhre and Rae Harrell from Cedar Knoll with 66s.
In Flight Two, two Williston golfers carded 68s to earn low net honors, Corrine Maietta and Helene Poulin. Sharing the runner-up position were Sally Taylor from Ralph Myhre and Deb Rehbein from Cedar Knoll, each with a 72.
The long driver winners were Jackman from Flight One and Betsy Gossens from Flight Two, and Ralph Myhre’s Diane Neuse won the competition for closest to the pin with her second shot.
