Bristol Police Log: Williston man receives several citations

BRISTOL — Bristol police on Sunday arrested a Williston man after, they alleged, he lied to them about a motor vehicle accident.
Police responded to a car accident at the intersection of Monkton Road and Bristol Road in Monkton on Saturday, June 28, where they found a car resting on the passenger side in a ditch next to the road. Twenty-eight-year-old David Romeo Lisboa, who was present at the scene, told police a family member had been driving the vehicle, and had left the area on foot to seek help. Police said Lisboa then changed his story, and said the family member had gotten a ride away from the scene with a stranger, and feared being arrested on outstanding warrants.
Police asked Lisboa to ask the family member to return to the scene for questioning, but Lisboa was unable to do so. Police also determined during this time that the vehicle in the ditch was the only one that was registered to anyone in Lisboa’s family.
Lisboa then admitted to being the driver, and said he had lied to police because, Bristol police report, he worried he was going to be arrested for “issues related to his operator’s license.”
Police determined Lisboa’s license had civil violations, and issued him a civil violation complaint for driving without a valid license. Police also cited Lisboa for providing false information to law enforcement.
Separately, on June 29, police cited a Bristol woman for driving with a criminally suspended license for the second time in two weeks.
Police cited Alara Bourgeois, 20, after they received information that Bourgeois was parked in a lot near New Haven Junction. Police said they obtained this information while investigating acquaintances of Bourgeois for a separate incident.
Police spoke with Bourgeois and two other people in the parking lot, and learned that their vehicle was neither registered nor insured. Police also learned Bourgeois had driven the car from Colchester to New Haven. Police issued her a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court at a later date.
Police cited Bourgeois for the same offense June 24. According to police records, the June 29 citation is her 10th for driving with a suspended license.
