Opinion: Editor entered ‘Twilight Zone’
Dear Mr. Lynn,
I would like to take a moment to thank you for inviting Rod Serling to ghost write your latest editorial, “A more vibrant GOP voice would make Vt. stronger.” After reading it, I was immediately transported to the Twilight Zone.
I love the part where Rod writes that just because Rep. Heidi Scheuermann’s education finance reform proposals are DOA in the Legislature, that doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t have merit. Rod obviously did his research, and spent the 15 seconds required to go all the way back to May 23 where you dedicated your editorial to trashing everything she says.
And in typical Rod Serling fashion, he leaves the reader wondering what comes next. Why would an unabashed liberal, who’s kindred spirits own the governor’s office and entire Legislature, want a Republican anywhere near Montpelier? I hope there is a part 2 to this editorial. I can’t wait to read what comes next.
Oh, and by the way, regarding your editorial of May 23, I don’t like Act 60 and 68 either. But not because of my nice home in Stowe, but because of my home in Shoreham, where I once witnessed the rebated electorate being told to ignore the spending increases, rebates will protect you.
