Tiger girls lacrosse falls to MMU

JERICHO — Host Mount Mansfield rallied past the Middlebury Union High School girls’ lacrosse team on Monday, 11-10.
The Tigers held a 10-6 lead with 10 minutes left, but the Cougars scored five straight, including Marina Bowie’s game-winner with seven seconds left.
MMU improved to 5-1 and moved into a virtual first-place tie with BFA-St. Albans, an 11-10 winner over Rice on Monday. The Tigers lost a chance to take over first place and dropped into third at 6-2, tied with Burr & Burton and Rice as of Monday. MUHS was set to play at Burlington on Wednesday, and then will travel to face Burr & Burton on Monday.
On this past Monday, Emily Robinson led the Tigers with five goals and an assist, Katie Holmes scored three times, and Sophia Abdul Sater and Julia Rosenberg added a goal apiece. Goalie Baily Ryan made 11 saves.
