Tiger girls’ tennis tops U-32, 6-1
MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Union High School girls’ tennis team beat visiting U-32 on Tuesday, 6-1, winning three tiebreakers along the way.
In individual matches, the results were:
• At No. 1 singles, Marvie Avery, M, beat Signe Goddard, 6-1, 6-4.
• At No. 2 singles, Madeline Ganey, M, beat Emily George, 6-0, 3-6 (10-4 tiebreak).
• At No. 3 singles, Sara Boe, M, lost to Allie Belliveau, 4-6, 6-4 (8-10 tiebreak).
• At No. 4 singles, Dorothy Punderson, M, beat Nell Peterson, 6-4, 4-6 (10-3 tiebreak).
• At No. 5 singles, Charlotte Keathley, M, beat Emiri Maruyama, 6-2, 4-6 (10-7 tiebreak).
• At No. 1 doubles, Jesse Wulfman and Sonia Howlett, M, beat Kayla Kew and Anna Valenti, 6-1, 6-3.
• At No. 2 doubles, Lindsay Wells and Julia Cluss, M, beat Sophie Warner and Sam Hunt, 6-4, 6-1.
