Basin Harbor Club to host annual Bixby Gala

FERRISBURGH — The annual Bixby Gala hosted by the Basin Harbor Club in Ferrisburgh is scheduled for Friday, May 16, this year. Gala co-chairs Julie Adams and Shanon Atkins, along with Bixby board members and Basin Harbor staff, are once again planning a festive event packed with value and fun. Tickets include hors d’oeuvres and time to schmooze, a four-course sit-down dinner with dinner music, live and silent auctions, a raffle for Red Sox tickets and, for those who choose to get out on the dance floor, dancing to the inimitable sounds of The Grift.
The evening will begin with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m., and master of ceremonies Lee Dowling will welcome guests to the event. The silent auction will be open during that time and guests can bid on some fun and interesting items, including authentic Bixby Library maple syrup made from trees on the Bixby grounds, as well as artwork, vacations, gift certificates and much more.
Dinner will be served at 7 p.m., and a short live auction will follow dessert at 8:30. Then the dance floor will be waiting with great tunes spanning eras from the ’40s, to Elvis Presley to the Beatles to Jay-Z and Madonna. The silent auction will continue until 9:45 p.m.
Tickets for the full evening are $60 and proceeds go toward the library’s operating expenses. Groups of 12 can reserve a table, and individuals, couples and smaller groups will be seated for dinner by Basin Harbor staff. Tickets are available online through the Bixby Library website. They can also be purchased at Everywear on Main Street in Vergennes and at the library. For more information call 877-2211, check the website at www.BixbyLibrary.org or visit Facebook.
