Vergennes Police Log: City police cite drivers for DUI
VERGENNES — Vergennes police cited three drivers for driving under the influence of alcohol this past weekend, including one for DUI, second offense.
That last citation came on Friday, April 18, when police responded to a car that had jumped a Main Street curb in front of the Ryan Block. Police issued the DUI-2 citation to the operator, Jody P. Harrington, 35, of Charlotte.
The other two citations came on Sunday, April 20. Police stopped Chad Steady, 39, of Ferrisburgh for speeding on Route 7 and cited him for DUI.
Vergennes police also cited Marco Samaritoni, 27, of Vergennes after stopping his car at the intersection of Main and Green streets for failure to use a turn signal. Police said Samaritoni failed roadside sobriety tests and cited him for DUI, although they said his blood-alcohol content was within the legal limit for driving.
Also last week, police cited Ferrisburgh resident Emily Morrill, 18, for felony sale of marijuana. Police allege Morrill in March sold $350 of the illegal drug in one transaction.
