MUHS girls’ tennis improves record to 4-1

BARRE — The Middlebury Union High School girls’ tennis team blanked host Spaulding on Thursday, 7-0, to improve to 4-1 this season. The Tigers dropped just one set on the day.
The Tigers are now off until April 28, when they are scheduled to host North Country at 3:30 p.m.
Singles results were:
•  No. 1, Marvie Avery defeated Sarah Works, 6-1, 6-3.
•  No. 2, Madeline Ganey defeated Lizzie Tchanturicke, 6-2, 6-2.
•  No. 3, Jesse Wulfman defeated Anna Prescott, 6-4, 6-4.
•  No. 4, Dorothy Punderson defeated Shelby Jewett, 6-1, 6-3.
•  No. 5, Charlotte Keathley defeated Emily Boisverd 4-6, 7-5 (11-9).
Doubles results were:
•  No. 1, Julia Cluss and Lindsay Wells defeated Donki Patel and Rachel Ornitz, 6-1, 6-2.
•  No. 2, Hannah Stoll and Sophie Logan defeated Allie Canavan and Gabby Ausmann, 6-2, 7-5.
