MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Jeffrey A. Kimball, 38, of Saco, Maine, for driving under the influence, following a stop on Weybridge Street on April 12.
Police said Kimball was also found to be a fugitive of justice from Maine.
Kimball was lodged, for lack of bail, at the Marble Valley Correctional Center, according to police.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
•  Cited Christopher E. Sayers, 45, of Middlebury for driving with a suspended license (criminal offense) on North Pleasant Street on April 9.
•  Recovered and disposed of two used syringes that a Valley View resident had located while walking with her young daughter on April 9. The Middlebury Police Department urges people to call them at 388-3191 if they find dangerous drug paraphernalia and to never try to pick up or dispose of such debris themselves.
•  Were informed on April 9 of the recent theft of a Middlebury College student’s property from the Chateau Road area.
•  Responded to a family disturbance at a local home on April 10.
•  Assisted a local woman on April 10 in freeing her bike from an old lock that she had placed on it.
•  Served no-trespass orders on a man and a woman for the Maplefields store on North Pleasant Street on April 10.
•  Received a report on April 10 that a parked vehicle had rolled down from behind the Ilsley Library and crashed into two other unoccupied vehicles in the Bakery Lane area.
•  Cited Noah Stone, 21, of Falmouth, Maine, for possession of stolen property on Washington Street after he was allegedly found to be carrying a street sign that had been taken from a local driveway on April 11. UPDATE: Court paperwork showed that these charges were dismissed by the court.
•  Assisted a drunken man whom police found lying on the ground in the Main Street area on April 11.
•  Dealt with a neighbor dispute over a campfire, on Leno Lane on April 11.
•  Cited Stacey B. Laberge, 26, of Brandon for driving with a suspended license, following a stop on Route 7 South on April 11.
•  Investigated a report on April 11 of several young children playing in and around the road on Seymour Street.
•  Investigated a dispute between two Leno Lane neighbors on April 11.
•  Moved along two men who had been loitering on one of the downtown railroad overpasses on April 12.
•  Issued court diversion paperwork to a Middlebury College student who had allegedly tried to use a fake identification card to buy alcohol at the Maplefields store on North Pleasant Street on April 12.
•  Assisted a local woman who had been targeted by a phone scam on April 12. Police said she had received a call from a man who claimed to be from the Internal Revenue Service who alleged the woman owed money and that she would be arrested if she did not pay immediately.
•  Helped settle, on April 12, a family dispute involving child custody issues.
•  Assisted Middlebury Regional EMS on April 13 with a man who had become sick after drinking too much alcohol the previous night. Ambulance officials took the man to Porter Hospital.
•  Cited Dennis Barbour, 34, of Middlebury for driving with a suspended license, following a stop on Seminary Street on April 14.
•  Responded to a report of a man being assaulted on Middlebury College campus on April 14. Police said the man refused to give an account of what had happened and therefore the matter had to be dropped.
