Opera company to offer free tickets to teens
MIDDLEBURY — The Opera Company of Middlebury (OCM) is offering free tickets to middle and high school students for the Saturday, April 5, broadcast of “La Bohème” at the Town Hall Theater. This “Met in HD” performance will be broadcast live from the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. The broadcast starts at1 p.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m.
Giacomo Puccini’s “La Bohème” is a moving story of young love. It is the most-performed work in the history of the Metropolitan Opera. The musical “Rent” is based upon the story of “La Bohème.”
Thanks to an anonymous donor who wants young people to experience this exciting production, a block of 35 tickets is being made available to middle school and high school students in the area.
The cost of a student ticket is normally $10. To request a ticket and perhaps a second one for a school friend, contact the OCM at [email protected] by Monday, March 31.
