Panther women’s lacrosse improves to 2-0
NEW LONDON, Conn. — The Middlebury College women’s lacrosse team improved to 2-0 by topping host Connecticut College on Saturday, 12-4. The Panthers were ranked No. 3 in NCAA Division III last week.
Laurel Pascal scored three goals for the Panthers, Mary O’Connell scored two goals while assisting on three others, and Liza Herzog and Katie Ritter added two apiece against the 1-1 Camels.
After an early Camel goal, the Panthers scored the next 10 goals of the game, six in the first half to lead at the break, 6-1, and the first four of the second half.
Catherine Fowler corralled a team-best five ground balls for Middlebury. Ritter finished with two draw controls, two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Alyssa Palomba collected all five of her saves in the second half for the Panthers.
Allisa Dalpe finished with 10 saves for the Camels as Middlebury held a 23-14 shots advantage.
