Area hoop players set for all-star games
WINDSOR — Five local high school seniors will play in Saturday’s annual Vermont Basketball Coaches Association North-South Classic at Windsor High School, and a sixth will be honored.
Four of those athletes will play together for the North team in the Division I and II girls’ all-star game: Mount Abraham’s Ashlie Fay and Meghan Livingston and Otter Valley’s Olivia Bloomer and Brittany Bushey.
Mount Abe’s Sawyer Kamman will play for the South team in the D-I and II boys’ game.
Otter Valley junior John Winslow was chosen by the VBCA as one of the boys’ Dream Dozen of top underclassmen basketball players, and the VBCA will honor the boys’ and girls’ Dream Dozen between games on Saturday.
The D-III and IV girls’ game will tip off the day at 11 a.m., followed by the D-III and IV boys’ game at 1 p.m. The D-I and II girls’ game tips off at 3 p.m., and the D-I and II boys’ game caps the day with a 5 p.m. start.
The VBCA will also honor 1,000-point scorers, coaches of the year, officials of the year, players of the year, coaches with milestone wins, and undefeated teams.
Tickets will be available at the door at Windsor High School.
