Opinion: Time to take down decorations

The thing that makes holidays special and exciting is that they are finite. When a wonderful thing happens only once a year it is a precious time.
Some of us may have a crazy aunt who can always get the holiday tree up, but never seems to find the time to take it down. I have been reminded of that every day as I go over the Cross Street Bridge. What is wonderful and decorative in December becomes stale after the first week in January and by the end of February it is just downright depressing.
If the decor cannot be taken down in a timely fashion, then it should just not be put up at all.
