Opinion: Building plan makes perfect sense
Kudos to UD-3 voters for the grand turnout last week. As a Cornwall voter, I was proud to be among the majority. Above all, I was impressed by the vigorous civic debate.
I hope that Middlebury voters will vote in favor of the proposal before them on Town Meeting Day: authorization of the agreement between the town and the college for a modern municipal building, a new sports facility, and a public park in the heart of Middlebury. It’s a great deal: spend $2 million, get $6.5 million worth of new facilities.
It’s an outcome that we can be proud of and that future generations, echoing Victor Nuovo, will thank us for.
