Swimmers win at Winooski meet

WINOOSKI — Members of the Middlebury Aquatics Club and the Addison Otters swim team showed some strong finishes in the GMA Vermont Invitational, which was held Feb. 2 at St. Michael’s College in Winooski.
For Middlebury Aquatic, Anna Rakowski and Thomas Denton each won three races; Eliot Schneider won two; and Sam Ferguson, Spencer Doran, Max Moulton and Archie Milligan won a race apiece.
The Otters had three swimmers compete in the mixed open 500 free, which is 20 laps in the pool. Out of the 22 competitors 11-year-old Leah Croke placed 10th with a time of 6:52.87, Katie Mayer, 16, placed 11th with a time of 7:01.90, and Olivia Hawkins, 14, placed 12th with a time of 7:04.76.
