MUHS boys’ hockey claims two victories

MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Union High School boys’ hockey team moved over .500 with a pair of wins last week. The 5-4 Tigers are off this week and will next visit Harwood on Jan. 22.
On Wednesday, MUHS outshot host Burr & Burton by 45-16 in a 6-1 victory. Six Tigers scored, including Tyler Crowningshield, who picked up a goal and two assists as the Tigers took a 3-0 lead in the first period.
Devin Dwire and Colton Leno notched a goal and an assist apiece; Leno’s was his first varsity score. Keenan Bartlett, Nathan Lalonde and Nick Audet also found the net, and Jordan Stearns and Rio McCarty picked up assists. Goalie Doug DeLorenzo made 15 saves for MUHS.
On Saturday, the Tigers blanked visiting U-32, 5-0. Sawyer Ryan stopped 11 shots in goal for the shutout, and Crowningshield picked up another goal and assist. Also scoring for MUHS were Justin Stone, Audet, McCarty and Leno. David Woolaver made 21 saves for the Raiders.
