Mount Abe, MUHS fall in boys’ hoop

ADDISON COUNTY — Both the Mount Abraham and Middlebury union high school boys’ basketball teams came up short on southern road trips on Tuesday, while the Vergennes boys saw their only game postponed.
Otter Valley was set to visit Poultney on Wednesday after the deadline for this edition of the Independent. Vergennes was set to host Fair Haven on Monday; that game was postponed until Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
EAGLES
Host Mill River used a 19-3 second-quarter advantage to take a decisive 35-14 lead at halftime in its 60-35 victory over the Eagles. The Minutemen evened their record at 3-3.
Sawyer Kamman scored 10 to lead the Eagles, who will look to improve their 1-7 mark when they visit Otter Valley at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and look for their second win of the season over OV.
TIGERS
The Tigers fell at Burr & Burton, 60-33. The Bulldogs improved to 4-0, while the Tigers dipped back below .500 at 2-3 and saw a two-game winning streak snapped. The Tigers will look to bounce back at OV on Friday at 7 p.m.
