Hodsden earns D-III football honor

VERGENNES — Vergennes Union High School senior and Mount Abraham football player Tommy Lee Hodsden has been chosen as the Vermont Division III PRIDE Premier Player for the 2013 football season by the Vermont Chapter of the National Football Foundation.
Hodsden will receive his D-III award at the Vermont Chapter Banquet at Castleton State College on April 27, and is also a candidate along with the D-I and D-II winners for the overall Vermont PRIDE Premier Player Award.
This season’s PRIDE winner will join the first seven winners, Andrew Plumley of Burlington, Taylor DeVarney of South Burlington, Mick Wong of Hartford, Matt Long of Champlain Valley, Christian McCormick of Rice, Marshall Hastings Middlebury and Jake Stalcup of Burr & Burton.
Plumley attended Middlebury College, and Stalcup, a quarterback, is a current member of the Panther team.
