Commodore, Eagle track athletes fare well at UVM
BURLINGTON — Vergennes and Mount Abraham union high school athletes posted strong performances at Saturday’s Division II indoor track meet at the University of Vermont.
Vergennes junior Chris Castillo placed in five events, while senior Alix Kauffman and junior Sebby Crowell placed in two events each, senior Matteo Palmer earned a second-place finish, and juniors Ally Stearns and Paige Stolen each placed in one event.
The two Mount Abe independents who train with the Commodores, seniors Natalie May and Chris Carter, each earned second-place finishes.
Overall, the VUHS boys placed sixth out of 13 teams with 33.5 points, with Rice winning at 76. The VUHS girls were 11th out of 16 teams with 14.5 points, behind Lake Region’s winning total of 73.
