Spaulding girls’ hockey edges MUHS, 4-3

MIDDLEBURY — Visiting Spaulding edged the Middlebury Union High School girls’ hockey team on Saturday, 4-3. The Division I Tide improved to 5-2-1, while the D-II Tigers dropped to 6-3.
Spaulding’s Julia Ormsby scored all four of her team’s goals, including one just five seconds after the opening faceoff. Her final goal gave the Tide a 4-2 lead in the third period.
Timi Carone recorded a goal and an assist for MUHS, and Sara Boe and Tajah Marsden also scored. Spaulding goalie Morgan Gosselin stopped 29 shots.
The Tigers remained in third place in D-II despite the setback.
