Tiger boys’ basketball falls to Colchester in overtime
ADDISON COUNTY —Middlebury saw action in local high school boys’ basketball on Monday night, as other games were postponed.
MUHS (0-2) dropped its second close home game, 46-39, to Colchester. The Lakers’ Ricky Giroux came up with six of his game-high 14 points in overtime to help his team even its record at 2-2.
The game was tied at 37-37 at the end of the fourth quarter. Cullen Hathaway tallied a team-high 11 points for the Tigers, who will seek their first win at Montpelier on Saturday.
The Vergennes boys’ Monday game at Burr & Burton was postponed; no new date was immediately announced. The Commodores are set to host Peoples on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
Otter Valley was set to play a first-round contest in Arlington’s holiday tournament, but that game was moved to Jan. 4, with the time to be announced. Next up for OV is a date at Mount Abraham on Monday at 7 p.m.
Mount Abe was idle; the Eagles will host Randolph on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. before OV’s Monday visit.
