Panther men’s hockey event to aid Alzheimer’s charity
MIDDLEBURY — Unlike for most Middlebury College men’s hockey games, no admission will be charged for the Middlebury College Men’s Hockey Holiday Tournament, which is sponsored by Friends of Panther Hockey and will take place on Jan. 3 and 4 at Kenyon Arena.
However, the Friday and Saturday games will be dedicated to Alzheimer’s awareness, and a suggested donation of $5 will go directly to the Alzheimer’s Association. Proceeds of 50/50 raffles will also be donated to that organization.
The games will begin on Friday at 4 p.m., when Neumann will play Southern Maine. At 7 p.m., Middlebury College will face off against Saint Michael’s. On Saturday, the consolation game will be played at 1 p.m., and the championship game is set for 4 p.m.
The morning of the holiday tournament also offers three youth hockey games, starting at 8 a.m. with the Middlebury under-12 girls facing the CSB/South Burlington U-10 girls.
Hockey also continues at Kenyon at 7 p.m. that Saturday with a rematch of the 2013 NCAA Division III women’s final: Middlebury is hosting defending champion Elmira.
