Otter wrestlers reach St. J podium
ST. JOHNSBURY — The Otter Valley Union High School wrestling team got off to a strong start for its season this past weekend, taking fourth place at a major opening tournament, the St. Johnsbury Early Bird Invitational.
Six Otters reached the podium with top-four finishes, led by junior Adam Sherwin’s first-place effort at 220 pounds.
OV coach Steve Mitchell noted his team is still young, with only one senior on his roster, Joe Palmer, who took fourth at 138.
“We did pretty well considering our youth,” Mitchell said.
Also placing were:
• Junior Eric Manning, second at 112.
• Freshman Tyson Cram, second at 126.
• Junior Jacob Scarborough, third at 132.
• Freshman Neiko Desabrais, fourth at 120.
