Tiger boys’ hockey buries Wasps to share top spot in D-II
MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Union High School boys’ hockey team knocked off visiting Division II rival Woodstock, 5-2, this past Wednesday.
The Tigers improved to 2-1, good for a first-place tie in Division II with Mount Mansfield heading into weekend play. They are idle this weekend and will host D-I power St. Albans on Wednesday before visiting league rival Lyndon on Saturday. Woodstock dropped to 1-2 heading into the weekend.
Versus the Wasps, Nick Audet led the attack with a pair of goals, Justin Stone and Keenan Bartlett each notched a goal and an assist, and James Ploof scored a goal that was his career first. Andrew Gleason, Devin Dwire and Tyler Crowningshield picked up assists, and goalie Sawyer Ryan backstopped with win with 17 saves.
