MUHS girls’ hockey wins twice to preserve undefeated season
MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Union High School girls’ hockey team picked up a pair of wins last week to improve to 4-0. The Tigers and also undefeated Northfield are dueling for first place in Division II.
On Wednesday, the Tigers topped visiting Rutland, 4-1. Timi Carone, Angela Carone and Julia Carone each scored in the second period to spark MUHS, and CareyAnne Howlett scored the final goal. Tiger goalie Baily Ryan recorded six saves.
On Saturday, the Tigers defeated host Brattleboro, 4-0, as again four Tigers found the net. Timi and Julia Carone each tallied, and Sara Kelley and Harper Smith joined them in lighting the lamp. Freshman goalie Rowan Hendy worked her second straight shutout, while Alex Fellows kept the Colonels close with a 63-save effort.
This week the Tigers host Hartford at 4:45 on Wednesday, and then play at Burr & Burton on Saturday.
