Bristol Police Log: Town man arrested for sale of heroin
BRISTOL — Bristol police on Tuesday arrested a Bristol man for the sale of heroin. Ernest Winslow Cushman, 23, was collared after what police described as an “extensive investigation” by Officer Joshua Otey and Sergeant Randy Crowe.
Cushman was arrested at 10:15 p.m. during a traffic stop conducted by Vermont State Police and Vergennes police.
On Nov. 14 police executed a search warrant at Cushman’s residence at the Kountry Trailer Park, where, according to a press release from Bristol Police Chief Kevin Gibbs, evidence “identified Cushman’s activities related to the sale of heroin and cocaine” and also identified persons that allegedly purchased drugs from Cushman. Bristol police did more investigation leading up to the Nov. 19 arrest.
At the time of his arrest, Cushman was on release for two open cases in Addison Superior Court. He had previously posted $5,000 bail. This time, Cushman was jailed at the Chittenden County Correctional Center in lieu of $150,000 bail.
Police said they are continuing to investigate the out-of-state source who supplied the drugs to Cushman.
