UPDATE: 88-year-old man missing from his Whiting home

UPDATE: Missing Whiting man found.
WHITING — Vermont State Police late on Monday requested the public’s assistance in locating an 88-year-old Whiting man with dementia who is missing; and on Tuesday afternoon troopers reported that the man was located and returned to his family.
Police on Monday night reported that Robert E. Shaw was last seen at his residence, 84 Galvin Road, at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, acting confused.
He takes prescribed medication for his dementia and a heart condition, which he had taken earlier that morning. Police report that he has a mobility issue and is unsteady on his feet.
Troopers believed Shaw was driving a Silver 2008 Lexus 330 with a partial Maryland registration of 94535. There are also two unknown letters — one over the other — on the license plate.
It was reported that Shaw may have gone to the Hannaford supermarket in Middlebury, or to his son’s residence in Shelburne. Both locations had been checked and Shaw had not been to either location.

But at 2:43 p.m. on Tuesday VSP issued a release saying Shaw had been found.
