Marquis Theater temporarily closed

MIDDLEBURY — The Marquis Theater is expected to be closed until the first week of November following a small fuel oil spill that occurred on Wednesday, Oct. 23, inside the Main Street building.
Marquis Theater owner Bill Shafer said approximately 10- to 20 gallons of fuel escaped from a leaky component in an overhead fuel storage tank at the upper level of the theater. Some of the oil seeped into the ladies’ room and lobby area, according to Shafer. The theater is in the process of being cleaned. For the latest details on the theater’s progress and opening date, check out the Marquis Facebook site.
